2010 – Ario (Art/Code/Design)

Generally in middle school and high school in my free time I’d work on a game and submit it to a competition every year, finally on the last year I actually found someone good at coding, super good at coding and a very determined person. It can be tough though to get people interested in projects like these but I’m always happy for help lol.

I and another programmer (Matt) worked on a health based game for a competition, I did a lot of UI and artwork. It wasn’t that great of a project but I was so proud of my menu then, looking back now it’s laughable but I thought I’d share. I was trying to make it stylish and you can see how this game was influenced by Pokemon… But it was just regular animals attacking for lack of vitamins, almost becoming like vampires.

Bird talking to you on an equipment screen
talking and walking through a forest
turn based battle system
Vitamin stats
This was not the finished version but just a copy, the finished version was later lost in a lot data loss issue much later on. But hey, it existed.

Back then my absolute favorite thing was designing inventory systems, I really love creating inventory systems there are so many cool ways to display info.
